Grandmaster Javed Khan has been involved in the martial arts for over 50 years. He studied Judo, Boxing, Kyo Kushin karate. In 1977 he began to learn Taekwondo from a Vietnamese Refugee Bui Quoc Cung who was a 2nd Dan in the Korea martial art. Along with Taekwondo, Bui also taught Grandmaster Khan the Vietnamese martial art of Vovinam or Viet Vo Dao. Grandmaster Javed Khan is one of the pioneers of Indian Taekwondo. In 1981, Grandmaster Khan was awarded his 1st Degree Black Belt. He began teaching Taekwondo in 1982 for Bui as his assistant, in his native hometown of Lonavala in India.
In 1983 a young 19-year-old Javed Khan traveled to Paris France, along with Bui where he got his 2nd Degree Black belt in Taekwondo.
In 1986 Grandmaster Javed Khan received his 3rd Dan Black belt from Taekwondo Legend, Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, in Los Angeles. Grandmaster Khan introduced Kickboxing to India in 1986 and is also referred to as the "Father of Indian Kickboxing."
He has won numerous National and International championships in Taekwondo and Kickboxing; Created 2 world records in breaking; Starred in several "Bollywood" films in the lead role; Trained Indian celebrities (Bollywood film stars), Police, and the military around the world.
Grandmaster Javed Khan created a street effective fighting system called "Khan Do Kwan." Several specialized programs dealing with real world self-protection such as WARDA Women Against Rape & Domestic Abuse(R) and KPCT Khan Do Kwan Police Control Tactics are also created and developed by him. Through the WARDA Women Against Rape & Domestic Abuse(R) program, Grandmaster Javed Khan has personally trained and taught Women's counter-assault, self protection and self preservation to over 20,000 women around the world.
Grandmaster Javed Khan has trained and developed several National, International and World Champions. He has trained and promoted hundreds of Black Belts around the world. He is also the founder and president of the International Progressive Taekwondo Federation which has membership in several countries worldwide.
Bollywood and Movies
Grandmaster Javed Khan has acted in several Bollywood movies in the lead role, was the action coordinator for Prem Agaan, Fardeen Khan's debut movie.
In 2005 Grandmaster Javed Khan produced a documentary on "Kalaripayattu" the ancient Indian Martial art, which was shot on location in Kerala, India.
In 2008 Grandmaster Javed Khan Produced, Directed, wrote the script and also played the lead role in his home production film "The Fighter."

In March 2002, Grandmaster Javed Khan was awarded the Presidential Sports Award for Taekwondo.
In 2021 Grandmaster Javed Khan was included in the Hall of Fame of the World's Greatest Martial Artists. He was Featured in the books 33rd Edition.
On May 22, 2022, The Sports & Martial Arts Excellence Awards Inducted Grandmaster Javed Khan into the Hall of Fame by awarding him the World Sports Star Awards at Kolkata, India.
In 2022, Grandmaster Javed Khan was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joseph Biden. The award was presented by Joseph Hogsett, the Mayor of Indianapolis.
September 04. 2022 was declared Javed Khan Day in the state of Indiana. The Proclamation was issued by Indiana State Rep Mitchell Gore.
On October 15, 2022, the Indianapolis Sikh Community honored Grandmaster Javed Khan for the services he has rendered to the Indianapolis Sikh community at their yearly Sikh Day Parade.
On March 11, 2023, the Indianapolis Muslim Community and the Center for Interfaith Integration awarded Grandmaster Javed Khan an award for outstanding public service
